Step 1: Limit after-school activities
Sometimes, having too many after-school activities will challenge your teenager's ability to get them all done in a reasonable amount of time, thus cutting in on his/her sleep time.
Step 2: Start homework early
Getting homework done as early as possible after coming home will allow your teenager to have some time to relax in the evening.
Step 3: Set a non-negotiable time for bed
Get your teenager into the habit of going to bed at the same time every night. Do not give in to your teenager's fussing.
Step 4: Strategically place the alarm clock
Put the alarm clock furthest from your teenager's bed so that he/she will have to get out of bed in order to turn it off.
Step 5: Keep bedtime consistent throughout the weekend
